Extraordinarily fine example of the Jugendstil/Art Nouveau jeweller's art. Sadly, my pictures don't come close to showing the intricacy of the work.

An early twentieth century amethyst silver, enamel and marcasite brooch. A large round-cut amethyst (ca 10mm) is bezel-set proud of a convex pierced mount formed of three concentric bands consisting of (in-to-out) pierced beaded and oval wirework, white enamelled conjoined ovals and marcasite-set circular pierced terminals. The circular pierced wirework brooch set a large amethyst. Incredibly, the piece is not signed or marked in any way, but is almost certainly Scandinavian ca 1900 and is by a very fine silversmith. 30mm
I trade in small silver, jewellery and objets d'art. I sell primarily at antiques fairs and in cabinets in Christique Antique Centre in Dorking.
