Antique 18" Celluloid-Head KR German Child Doll

This lovely German doll was made by Kammer & Reinardt. She has 'KR 728/7 Germany 43/46' moulded into the back of her head. She has a painted celluloid head and a five-piece jointed composition body. She has a modern wig, glass sleeping flirting eyes and an open mouth with two teeth. She has painted facial features. She is wearing a vintage dress and shoes. She has a mama box inside which is no longer operative. We would estimate her to date from the 1930s.

Condition: Overall in good with some playwear consistent with age. She is quite grubby and would benefit from a careful clean. There are some marks to her face. Her eyes do work, but are a little temperamental and do not close fully. We believe the cord for the flirty-eye movement has been replaced at some point. Her wig and cardboard dome are loose and there are some tape marks to either side of the top of her head. Her body has some wear, particularly around the joints, and her stringing is loose and requires attention. Her mama box is inoperative. Her vintage dress is faded, discoloured with age and frayed in places. Her shoes are also discoloured and the elastic is stretched. One of the shoes is split at the back seam.
