An American ‘Boston’ (from where the style first originated) rocking chair, c1860 with original paint finish including a Chinoiserie style image of a street scene on the surface of the top comb rail. The chair features a scroll shaped seat typical of its type and setting it apart from other styles of Windsor chair.
