Alabaster Marble Bust of a lady. 19th century.
This is a late 19th Century head and shoulder bust of a young lady. Carved from Alabaster marble.
Her hair, scarf and smock are of the medieval, pre raphaelite style of dress, popular towards the end of the 19th century
The figure has been beautifully modelled in sections of contrasting alabaster. White for the face, and hair, and scarf which has a highlight of colour and a highly figured yellower stone for her tunic. The base is also of well figured alabaster.
She has etched decoration to the neck line of her tunic and scarf
