Primarily a portrait painter in oil. Davison practised in Gateshead in the early 20th century. He trained at the Hospital Field House, Arbroath and exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1917 amd at the Artists of the Northern Counties exhibition at the Laing Gallery from 1918.
