A WW2 Ryf & Marchand military pocket watch.
A WW2 Ryf & Marchand military pocket watch.
Ryf & Marchand were watch importers, based in Hatton Garden in London.
The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement, with 15 jewels and two adjustments, which is working well
.
The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case back has the military arrow or pheon, together with the reference B39517 (it is believed that the B relates to the depot which originally issued the watch). The case back has some unevenness but overall the condition is very acceptable for a 1930/40s piece.
The bottom of the case has the same serial number as the case back.
The acrylic lens is in nice condition.
The enamel dial is signed Ryf & Marchand, Swiss Made. The dial is in nice condition.
The watch has its original blued steel hands.
The watch come on a later leather albert which measures 20 cm including the T bar and clasp.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
