A really superb pair of Regency japanned and painted elbow chairs with circular caned seats raised on turned and fluted legs. The floral hand painted cresting rail and lower rail enclose an elegant curved trellis and roundel back, the painting being repeated on other parts of the chairs. The chairs are in good condition, the caned seats are in excellent order. The painting on the chairs is original and there is some slight wear to some areas. This does not detract from the beauty of these chairs and adds to their originality and charm. These highly unusual and decorative chairs would bring Regency elegance to any interior.
