This chair is a rare18th century, oak Preachers Chair the chair looks rather odd having an exceptionally high back, on top of which is a small book ledge. It was customary in those days for preachers to visit the homes, to conduct services. The congregation would hear the preacher speak to them stood on a box behind the chair he was then able to use the ledge as a pulpit.
It is rumoured that John Wesley may have made use of the chair on his extensive travels in the area.
Probably of small use today, but we feel it has its place as a sculpture, its has a strong presence and its history of passion and deep fervour is almost tangible.

PRICES

RETURNS

In the rare case that you wish to return an item, we need notification within 48 hours of delivery. We will then refund the cost of the item back to you in full, less transport costs involved. The item must then be delivered back to our showroom within 14 days in the exact same condition as it left us.

STORAGE

Should an item not be ready for immediate delivery, we are able to hold stock at our shop in Cowbridge. Items may be subject to a storage fee where applicable.
