A lovely little chair, a North country wing chair with the benefit for young children of rockers. Keep them happy for ages. Made in the style that hasn't ceased production for maybe 250 years, that and the ladder-back version. Only a couple of other designs can nearly compete. This one still has the original rush seat in excellent condition and surely had a cosy life. For something made between the wars to have almost no wear or tear is remarkable. It is traditionally made, as you would expect, of ash and birch with the rockers cut from the grown shape of the grain for strength even though only for the weight of a child. That is attention to detail.
