A good pair of late 17th Century oak side chairs, the back splats supporting a beautiful inverted cresting rail with scrolled carving. Standing firmly on block and turned legs, these early oak chairs have a superb rich colour and patina. There is historic restoration to the underside of the seats, this type of repair is not unusual in this type of seat construction and chairs of this great age, it does not affect the appearance or stability of these handsome chairs. A very impressive pair of period side chairs that would enhance any interior scheme.
