A C.17th & Later Wainscot Chair


An Enchanting C.17 & Later Antique Carved Oak Wainscot Chair
Measuring approximately 44" x 22 1/4" x 22" (height, width, depth) with a seat height of 17"
A rare Country piece probably of South Lancashire / North Cheshire origin predominantly 17th century, the lower legs, stretchers and seat being later.
The carved back panel depicting a central flower head, buds and foliage encased in molded frame and capped with a lovely carved and scrolled crest.
The seat made from 1/2" thick English oak flanked by characteristic down-swept arms resting on turned balusters.
Although the chair has a few minor imperfections and repairs commensurate with age it is now sold in good, solid restored condition.
