A 17th century french walnut carved cupboard, consisting of two small cupboards and a single drawer below, the pot board base also has a lidded compartment for further storage. The cupboard has a beautiful colour and patina to the surface of the walnut and is finely carved throughout. The doors are decorated with winged cherub heads, flanked by carved columns, the drawer has a deep moulded fascade which continues around the sides. The base has a pair of turned supports with a carved panel at the back decorated with another cherub head set within a scrolling foliate and elongated cartouche.
There is one key which only locks the top left cupboard, the other locks are present, but unfortunately there are no keys for those.
There are restorations and traces of old wood worm, which is expected with walnut of this age.
This is a two part cupboard and the top lift off of the base for easy mobility.
