A1 Original 1960s Architect's Impression, Acetate
Original Framed 1960s Architectural Impression
A unique architects' impression of a Mid-Century Modern house printed on acetate in the 1960s, mounted on original card stamped in ink with the practice's name, Robert E. Jones and Edwin K. Howe, California. Newly mounted in an A1 size aluminium frame.
Jones and Howe were award-winning architects, designing innovative Mid-Century Modern homes in and around San Diego, California in the late 60s and early 70s (they were in partnership from 1967 to the mid 70s, dating this print to that period). This is a black ink drawing on transparent acetate, with colour added to highlight some areas. Colours used are green, white, orange and yellow.
The acetate is mounted on card, coloured grey on the front to show through the transparent material, and off-white on the reverse. The acetate is attached to the card with black tape, original to the 1960s. The item has been newly mounted in front of off-white mountboard to show it in its entirety, and framed in a simple black aluminium frame. The frame has acrylic rather than glass - this is as transparent and clear as glass but light and resilient.
