9CT Gold Garrard 20Yr Presentation Wristwatch 1959
A vintage 9CT Gold Gentleman's Wristwatch retailed by the Crown Jewellers, Garrard & Co Ltd. dating from c1959. The watch is complete with the original presentation case from Garrard & Co. Ltd with the De Havilland Aircraft Company Logo on the top.
The dial is in good unrestored condition (see photo) and signed by "Garrard".
The Swiss made, 17 Jewel movement is in good condition and working order.
The inside of the case stamped "Dennison, Made in England". It is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "ALD" for A L Dennison, "9/.375" for 9 carat gold alongside the Birmingham town mark and date letter "J" for 1958/59.
The watch has a 20 Year presentation inscription on the rear of the case "Presented to J.F. Balls by the Directors of the De Havilland Engine Co. Ltd for 20 Years Service, 1939-1959".
The recipient starting work with De Havilland at the start of World War II.
A nice interesting watch in very good overall condition and working order.
