The watch has a hand-winding movement, a Dugena 3325 which is based on an ETA 2782, which is working nicely.
The watch measures 37mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the case is gold plated while the case back is stainless steel. The case is in good condition, just some marking to the back of the watch, by the tab to remove the case back. The back of the watch is signed with the Dugena name, and it also states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.
Dugena is a very famous German brand but it all began in Switzerland with the Swiss watchmaker association Corporation d’Horologers Suisse. It was founded in 1883 and in 1901 changed its name to Union Horlogere which manufactured and sold watches under the brand name Alpina.
From about 1909, a branch was set up in Glashutte in Germany, called Präsicions-Uhrenfabrik Alpina. During World War II, the company was not allowed to use the Alpina name so they changed to Dugena which stands for Deutche Uhrmacher GE Nossenschaft Alpina.
So, to sum up, Dugena watches have Swiss movements which are finished in Germany.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in good original condition with original hands, centre seconds and outer minute markers. Quickset date, initially set at first position.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
