A stunning pair of antique Victorian oil paintings by the well known artist H. Leslie. He was a prolific artist, known for painting the Scottish highlands in and around the 1870-1880’s, so these are likely to date from that period.

They are beautifully executed, and appear to show either side of the same lake, one at dawn and one at dusk. There is amazing detail and gorgeous colours, these are also beautifully framed and mounted behind glass.

The condition is superb, the glass has preserved the paintings themselves so they appear vibrant and crisp, with hardly any ageing to be seen. The gilt wood and gesso frames are also on very good condition, with only some very minor wear here and there.
