This lovely and very decorative Mid 19th Century Welsh Oak and Mahogany Cupboard Over Drawers provides lots of very stylish storage.
The moulded cornice over a mahogany banded frieze, with two inset panelled doors between bold baluster and corkscrew turned mahogany pilasters. The doors enclose the original hanging space ,hence these are sometimes called bacon or tack cupboards, to which we have added to very useful full depth shelves.
Below are two dummy drawer fronts affording additional depth to the cupboard over two full width drawers all with their original mother of pearl inlaid turned handles.The sides are panelled and all raised on original bracket feet. WELSH Circa 1840 to 1870
