A 19th century oil painting on panel by W S Goodwin (1833 -1916), the majority of his work was in the south of England, painting in both watercolour and oil. Examples of his work cover both landscape and coastal as well as inland waterways. This particular picture is of New Forest Stream, it is a well framed (not period) oil on panel, with real charm, it offers a lot more than the formulaic late 19th century landscapes so often seen by other hands. Here there is an accomplished touch to this composition and impressionistic interpretation that certainly adds a bit of magic.

Condition: ready to hang, everything is in excellent order.

Size: 16 x 24 cms.
