19C Victorian walnut ladies spoon back chair armch
Antique 19C Victorian carved walnut nursing spoon back chair armchair sofa.
This is a beautiful item, with a lovely age, colour and patina. The carving creates a great effect.
We believe that the chair is made of walnut although it could conceivably be a similar coloured show wood.
The upholstery is recent with only light wear and no major marks.
The chair is solid with no loose legs, sags or wobbles.
Lovely proportions and styling.
Maximum overall dimensions 490mmW x 590mmD x 915mmH (450mm high seat when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture. There is evidence of structural repairs, but all is good and solid now. Note that the upholstery is recent with no significant wear or marks. We have not inspected components concealed beneath the fabric. There are just a few visible historic woodworm holes (believed extinct), that we have treated for good measure.
