1928 silver Limit pocket watch with chain.
The watch has a 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Limit No 2 name. Limit were importers of watches into the UK, and they were based in Oldham in Lancashire, UK. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a little light scratching.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the back covers for Birmingham 1928, with a case maker’s mark for the Dennison Watch Case Company. Dennisons was a Birmingham based manufacturer who supplied various makers with cases. The front and sides of the case are in good condition. The hinged case back has wear to the engine turned detail, and some unevenness.
The watch glass has a small chip to the bevelled edge and very minor marking to the main face, nothing serious at all.
The signed dial is in lovely condition.
The watch comes with a silver chain, 30cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The links have the silver lion mark but they are very rubbed so difficult to see. Also included is a much later silver gilt fob hallmarked for 1962, and with the initials AAD to the front.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
