1920s silver Bravingtons Renown pocket watch & chain.

Bravingtons were major inter war jewellers and goldsmiths and they had several branches across London. They sold Swiss watches under their name with Renown watches being their most successful range. They also sold many of the de-commissioned military watches to civilians.

This particular watch has a nicely jewelled Revue stem-winding movement which is working well.

The watch itself measures 50.5mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and has Birmingham hallmarks for 1928 with the makers mark for the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case is in nice condition, just light surface marking and a couple of small “dings” to the back but overall very acceptable for a 1920s piece. The inner dust cover has a presentation inscription Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd, British Dyestuffs Corporation Ltd, Presented to J Wrigley for 25 years service.

The watch lens is glass and has some light marking from use.

The dial is signed Bravingtons Renown and is in super condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes on a single Albert chain which has the lion passant mark on each link. The clasp and T bar are not hallmarked although the have tested positive for silver.

The chain measures 31cm long including the T bar and clasp and weighs 21 grams

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
