1904 Waltham P S Bartlett pocket watch.

1904 Waltham P S Bartlett pocket watch.
The watch has a quality P S Bartlett grade 17 jewel adjusted stem-winding movement which is working nicely. As well as being fully signed, the movement has the serial number 14163328which dates it back to 1904. Beautifully patterned nickel finish movement, Church 1892 patent regulator and Breguet hairspring. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover, there is a little surface marking where the back has been opened in the past.
The Bartlett grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the star model made by the Dennison Watch Case Co. The case has light surface marking and light wear to the bottom of the back but overall it is in nice condition for a 1904 piece.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in nice condition.
The watch has its original blued steel hands.
The watch comes in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
