A lovely yet simple ring with a square cut emerald of 1.5 carats set on a band of 18 carat gold. This natural emerald is known as "an emerald du jardin" as it has some feathering within the stone. This is quite common in emeralds.
The ring dates to the late 19th century, and although there is not a hallmark the gold band has been tested as 198 carat.
The emerald measures 8.5mm by 8.5mm and the band is size I and a half. There is a gross weight of 2.87 grams.
Condition is very good.
An ideal present.
