We are pleased to offer for sale this lovely oil painting of the demure young woman dating to circa 1850. The subject is wearing a soft blue dress, with a softly pleated bodice with dropped shoulders, and a white blouse with a loosely frilled neck. She has a dark blue shawl draped over one arm. Her hair is parted in the middle, drawn back and twisted up around the back of her head in the style of the period. She is wearing a ring on the third finger of her left hand, which could be an engagement ring.

The painting is unsigned, therefore we cannot offer any biographical information about the artist, however, this is one of two portraits that we are listing by the same hand.

The painting has been newly framed in a 3 3/8" ornate gilt frame and slip and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
