Early 16th century english oak linenfold panelling
Circa 1540
Recently aquired from a private house in knightsbridge london.
This strip of five linenfold panels with folded drapery with relieved border are ornamented with spiral twists and the edges of these folds are indented and cut back into fantastic hollows
This would have been part of wainscot panelling in its original form.
