Welcome to the Chair Workshop...

We are a shop and workshop restoring and seating country chairs in natural materials - cane, rush, rope, seagrass and Danish cord which has been established since 1993. We are open 9.30 - 5p.m. but it is helpful to be telephoned in advance.
Parking is convenient in the main car park. Main Street has resturants, cafes, shops and public toilets.
We are a member of the Basketmakers' Association for Basketmakers and Chairseaters.

We are experienced reseaters of traditional 6-way caning, Danish cord, pre-woven loom cane, seagrass, whole or skeined willow and rope.
We enjoy the challenges of specialist work such as bergeres, blind caning, curved caning, double caning and patterns including medallion or sunburst, sunrise, double Victoria, open and closed skein seating, star of David and traditional 4-way caning. These patterns and methods can be found on a variety of furniture; anything from chairs to sofas, bedheads, stools and even teapot handles.
