Victorian Leather Easy Chair
An Impressive and very substantial Victorian Leather Easy Chair made by sought after makers Morison & Co of Edinburgh (stamped and numbered) having good quality carved Oak legs retaining original castors. The long seat is sprung as is the buttoned back, upholstered in red leather, incredibly comfortable when seated, in overall superb conditon. Circa 1880.
Morison & Co. Edinburgh were originally located at 78 George Street, Edinburgh and then moved to 36 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh.
Morison & Co. used serial numbers to identify their products with the prefix 'A' for pieces designed and produced in their own workshop and 'B' for those repaired or resold by them.
The business, Morison & Co was sold in 1902 to Turner, Lord & Co. of London who, for some time, continued to use the name.
