This is an attractive and good quality antique George III style yew wood leather pedestal desk.

This is an attractive and good quality antique yew wood leather pedestal desk, circa 1950 - 1970 styled in the period of the George III era. The desk features a three panel green and gold leather tooled insert on the top, rectangular pedestals, dove tailed drawer construction, swan neck handles, decorated external panels terminating in Georgian style bracket feet. The right hand pedestal features a lockable cupboard door. The drawer linings are mahogany. The desk features a working key for the top three drawers only. The desk can either stand in the centre of a room or against a wall. The top frame and drawer bottoms and sides are constructed of engineered timber with a fantastic yew wood veneer. The pedestals are constructed of solid mahogany. The desk dismantles into three sections (top and two pedestals) for easy transportation.

Condition Report
In good condition which is commensurate with the age of the desk. The leather is in good condition and is free of rips, tares and stains. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges (see photos). Please note that the colour variation in the wood is unique to Yew Wood and is not a defect. Yew wood is actually a sought after wood. There are some small marks and stickers inside the drawers but nothing significant. The desk has a working key for top drawers only. The drawers below do not feature locks. Free of wood worm, solid in joint and ready to use.
