Fine quality 19th century Whale tooth scrimshaw,1875. Its a good sized example weighing 0.28kg.It is beautifully decorated with a 3 masted ship 'Alma' on one side and a compass on the other with a marker for 'Home'. The compass side is signed Capt H Jones and dated 1875. It has great patina and overall condition is good in line with age and use.
