Early 19th.c. North Wales oak cloak or tack cupboard c.1820. Designed to provide storage for clothing and riding gear which could be hung from the two rows of four peg hooks in the top. With two short and one long drawer in the base (the top two drawers being dummy fronts allowing extra hanging length inside). Moulded cornice over a frieze of inlaid lozenge details of the type associated with the market town of Talwrn on Anglesey. Square door panels with moulded surround, note the unusual walnut panels to the fixed centre. Original brass knobs and diamond escutcheons all of which are repeated on the base, which also features the same inlaid detail. Original base moulding and tall bracket feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied. Could be easily fitted with a hanging rail if preferred or shelves to make a useful kitchen cabinet.
