Magnificent - this is a beautiful piece of craftmanship - the alligator crocodile brooch is in very nice condition - measuring c. 3" inch long, a period c catch is present to the rear. c. 1940. I have no physical provenence, however I was advised that this little brooch was made as a sweetheart gift for soldiers during WWII to bring home, and I must admit I quite like that story whether it is true or just a tale, I have no reason to disbelieve it and the brooch is certainly about the right age .... The brooch itself is beautiful a deep green with gold aventurine along its back - delicate and very unusual I am hoping it will find its way to an appreciative buyer.
