Victorian Sterling Silver Floral Brooch, 1894
This is a very attractive late Victorian Sterling Silver floral design brooch. The brooch was made in Birmingham by Pearce & Thompson and dates to 1894. Pearce & Thompson were respected antique jewellery makers and silversmiths who had premises in Vyse Street, the road that runs through the heart of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. They were active in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras and primarily made jewellery and personal silver items.

The brooch has a central rounded flower set in a shield with more pointed five petal flowers on either side. It is in very good condition with no damage of any sort. The pin could possibly do with being tightened a little. Please make sure to view the photographs.

The brooch is 4cm across and weighs 2.6g. The hallmarks on the underside, which are well struck and clear to read, are the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the gothic date letter "u" for 1894 and the P&T makers' mark for Pearce & Thompson.
