A handsome and unusual Victorian silver padlock clasp for a bracelet or watch fob chain. This classic piece has a shield-shaped silver body, set with Scottish banded agate and bloodstone. To the reverse is a foliate engraved design and the fastening is hinged. Scottish agate jewellery gained popularity in the Victorian period, due to the Queen's love of everything Scottish and is rarely marked.
