Victorian Overmantle Mirror. Walnut and Gilt Frame
This is a fine 19th century country house overmantel mirror.
The frame is of broken rectangular outline, styled in the early Georgian manner.
Walnut veneered, with giltwood borders, it has shells to the 4 corners and carved drapery to either side.
The mounts are deeply incised with egg and dart carved detail.
The 3 mirror plates are original and in good condition with a few signs of wear and marks to the silvered backing.
All original backboards.
Soft wax finish
