A handsome antique Victorian gilt overmantle mirror in original water gilding dating from circa 1880. It has a moulded d-shaped frame with unusual painted glass surround. The base is flanked by moulded gilded brackets. The frame which retains its original water gilding has beautiful age and wear. Very heavy original mirror plate which has nicely aged. With original backing boards. Some loss of moulding to the corner of the left hand base.

Wear and marks commensurate with age. Corner section to one side of base missing and wear to other corner (see photos). Frame which retains its original water gilding has beautiful age and wear. Original mirror plate with signs of age – some loss of silvering in places.
