Very impressive late 19th.c. gilded overmantle mirror or pier glass c.1900. Originally intended to sit over a grand fireplace probably, it would be ideal as a full length dressing mirror in a bedroom or dress shop. Original 46″ x 86″ mirror plate with a bevelled edge. Within a fine gilded wooden frame topped with a superb moulded gesso frieze featuring a laurel wreath and floral spray flanked with Classical urns. Extensive decorative detail to the face of the frame with multiple bands of patterned moulding. Excellent condition, retaining the original gilding with a few minor repairs and retouching.
