A delightful fully hallmarked Edwardian 9 carat gold locket which was assayed (tested for gold purity) at Birmingham Assay Office in 1908. Ornate acanthus leaves adorn this piece. Acanthus leaves symbolise everlasting life. A shield cartouche conveys the desire to protect the wearer.

The shield is divided (parted) by a subtle diagonal line which would look even more stylish with the addition of initials engraved in each of the partitions.

The two forget-me-nots convey true love, respect and loyalty.

The hinge and clasp work perfectly. The original frames are in place. Both interior compartments are fitted with pristine vibrant green moire on to which locks of hair or photographs will be easy to attach.

This splendid locket suspends from an 18 inch 9 carat gold necklace.
