This lovely set of four oak dining chairs are in the antique Jacobean style, but are modern reproduction pieces dating from the 1970s. The chairs were made by the well-known firm of Waring & Gillow. They are not marked, but we have the original Waring & Gillow purchase receipt and model photograph - we will include the original photograph and a copy of the receipt in the sale (the original receipt also includes the matching dining table so if you buy both items we will include the original receipt). We purchased them from the original owner.

The chairs have decorative oak frames and carved backs with carved acorn finials. They are supported on turned legs at the front and square legs at the back with stretchers in between. The sides have double stretchers and the front stretcher has decorative ring turning. The chairs have over-upholstered green leather seats with studwork decoration around the edges.

Condition Overall this handsome set of chairs are in good usuable condition with only some light wear consistent with age and use. There is some light scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the chairs are overall a little faded. The chairs are solid and usuable with only minimal movement in the joints. The leather seats have some crazing and wear, but no splitting.

Overall - 96cm high, 45.5cm wide, 46cm deep (to maximums) 47cm high to seat. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
