A lovely example of a Scottish banded agate brooch set in a 9ct gold oval mount.
The polished agate stone bands are black, white and neutrals with complimenting brown to one side and due to the open back setting the stone is slightly translucent and the colours become brighter. The solid gold mount has a smooth edge with surrounding rope style decoration. The reverse side of the gold is fully hallmarked with makers stamp, assay symbol ( Edinburgh ), gold quality ( 9ct ) and date letter.

The brooch is offered in excellent condition. It looks and feels quality when held.
