Description:
Here is a fine quality reproduction Chippendale style solid mahogany couch, circa 1970, with a newly upholstered seat, in excellent condition. The couch features a stunning quality carved back incorporating a double shaped top rail, boasting exquisite foliate carvings, atop a finely executed interlaced open fretwork back. Shaped scroll arms, which are decorated with acanthus leaf carvings, secure the backrest. The couch incorporates a drop-in seat, which has been newly upholstered in top quality structured silk & pale gold brocade upholstery. The padded and webbed seat is firm but comfortable it does not sag. The seat drops into a frame, which is decorated with a reeded apron, incorporating a central floral cartouche. Elegantly shaped cabriole legs that are carved with acanthus leaf carvings to the knees, terminate on pronounced ball and claw feet on the front of the settle with rounded splayed legs to the rear. The couch features a rich brown mahogany colour and has a lovely colour and patination.

This couch is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the solid walnut frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The carved frame and arms are also in excellent condition with no splits or loose joints. The couch features a drop-in seat, which has been newly upholstered in top quality structured silk & pale gold brocade upholstery. Therefore the upholstery is in excellent new condition (it is clean and no signs of wear, tear or damage). The padded and webbed seat is firm but comfortable it does not sag. Furthermore, all carving to the frame is intact, complete and not damaged. The backs and arms are solid. This item is solid in joint, does not wobble and is ready to use.

Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.
