Rare 23ct. gold Galen Medal, 1872.
D.J.MASSEY & SON
This is a Rare 23ct. gold medal presented by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, to people in the fields of pharmaceutical Chemistry, known as “The Galen Medal”, designed by W. Wyon and presented from 1830 to 1893.
This particular medal was presented to Alfred Felix Stevens in 1872.
It has a minor mark on the edge where it has been tested but this is no detriment to the medal.
The images are scans of the actual medal, which comes in its original fitted case.
Diameter………………….45mm.
Weight…………………63.4 grams.
