St Andrews University Bronze Medal c1911-12

A GOOD, RARE SCOTTISH MEDAL, UNIVERSITAS SANCTI ANDREE, UNIVERSITY OF ST ANDREWS c1911,
A very good and rare, Scottish Bronze Medal.
This medal was awarded by St Andrews University 1911-12.
The bronze medallion featuring the words "UNIVERSITAS SANCTI ANDREE / MCCCCXI" around the circumference, enclosing a design of the interior of a medieval hall. The reverse features a plain outer circumference and an inner wreath. The outer band is engraved "EDUCATION" and "JANE PATON SHARP" and the inner wreath "1911-12".
The medal is complete with the original issue jeweller's box from Alexander Kirkwood & Son, Medalists, 9 St James Square, Edinburgh. Estd 1826. This firm still in existence today.
It measures 53mm in diameter. Specialists in Antique Pocket Watches & Vintage Wristwatches, Jewellery, Silver (including Scottish Provincial),Good Quality Antiques & Works of Art.
