This Superb Quality Burr Elm Bureau Bookcase is in great Condition having a Swan Neck Pediment with central Finial and a Dentil Moulding Below, flowing down to a Pair of Astral Glazed Doors fitted with Brass Escutcheon and working Lock to which there is a Key, opening to reveal Two adjustable Shelves. This Top section lifts off the Base for ease of Transportation. The Base has a lovely Veneered Fall with Inlay, fitted with a Brass Escutcheon and a working Lock, opening to reveal a fitted Interior with a Central Small Door fitted with a Brass Knob flanked by Two shaped Pillars, four Pigeon Holes and Two small Drawers fitted with Brass Knob Handles at either end. Below this there are Two Fall Stays at either end, interspaced by One Top Drawer and a further Three Graduated Drawers Below, all of Dovetailed Construction, Cock Beaded and running Smoothly, fitted with Brass Escutcheon's and Brass Swan Neck Handles, all supported upon shaped Bracket Feet. All Drawers have working Locks also to which there is a Key.
In one of the Interior Drawers the Original Bill of Sale was found from J.J. Luckett & Son.
This really is a Beautiful, well made piece of antique furniture with fantastic Veneers making it an ideal Practical focal point for any room in the home.
