Pair Vintage Collectors Specimen Chests Cabinets
A Superb and Unique Pair of Vintage Collector's / Specimen Chests.
Each cabinet contains a bank of 10 fully adjustable shallow drawers or slides, which are enclosed by a pair of pine-framed, glazed doors. The doors hang on their original brass pin hinges and are each inset with the original bakelite 'cats eye' door pulls along with bronzed locking levers. The construction is mainly of pitch pine, solid beech and birch ply. They date to the 1960's - 1970's.
Both cabinets have a number of well-considered, later alterations, including the addition of castor wheels to each. These allow for effortless manoeuvrability / positioning within any room (even when fully loaded with items). Further, each top is inset with polished and toughened glass panels (finished in white), lifting these superb cabinets to a whole new level and lending a touch of science lab chic.
There is tremendous forward use potential here, these striking chests would look equally at home in a domestic interior as they would in a work / office / industrial setting.
Ultra stylish and sub-zero cool. Not to be missed! Email or call for any further information on this item. We give great attention to each and every item we select and offer for sale, priding ourselves on the accuracy of our descriptions and research. We are very happy to provide complete and exacting condition reports (together with further photographs, where necessary) and encourage buyers to request this information prior to purchase.
Accepted payment methods are via paypal, bank transfer, personal cheque or cash.
Viewing of any item in person, prior to purchase, is always welcomed by appointment.
