Technical Description
A pair of engraved 19th century glass rummers. The pointed round funnel bowl is decorated with a band of egg and dart engraving. Supported by a square base with a polished pontil. One glass has been naively engraved on the base Jay H.
Historical Relevance
The birth in Edinburgh of James Clerk Maxwell, widely regarded as one of the greatest scientists of any era. His work on the theory of electromagnetism makes him the father of modern physics and he also made fundamental contributions to mathematics, astronomy and engineering
