This exquisite mantel clock features a double fusee movement with a balance escapement that strikes hourly on a gong, all encased in a handsome solid oak case. Crafted by Thwaites & Reed of London, the clock's 7-inch silver dial showcases black Roman numerals and includes a Chime & Silent option, along with Rise & Fall adjustments for precise speed control. The dial is safeguarded by a brass bezel-edged glazed door. Renowned for its continuous production since its inception, Thwaites & Reed is reputed to be the world's oldest clock manufacturing company, with records of Thwaites clocks dating as far back as 1610.
