A fabulous decorative pair of Flemish carved oak dolphins, these date to the late 17th century and are currently mounted on a later pine panel, although they would originally have abutted an edge on a piece of furniture or an architectural feature.

- Beautifully carved, with lovely scales, waves below the body, the sea behind and wonderful pronounced snouts or rostrums.
- Flat edges on one side of each, where they would have been mounted to abut another surface.
- Mounting holes through the tops of the tails.
- Currently screwed central to the bodies onto the pine panel.

These will make great decorative statement pieces for any interior and can be hung on the existing panel, if desired, or removed and displayed in a number of alternative ways.

In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use.
