Great size and very decorative English oak ebonised oval mirror with original mirror plate and moulded frame, circa 1900 and in good original condition.
This is a generous size for an oval mirror as they tend to be of smaller proportions, whereas this oval mirror will hang above a 6' / 180cm wide sideboard for example, or you might want to hang it "portrait" over a mantle.
The ebonised finish is lovely and has aged gracefully over the years, revealing a little of the solid oak frame grain and the light catches the shaped or moulded frame beautifully.
I've always been a fan of oval mirrors, and ebonised mirrors, so I was thrilled to have found this particular mirror!

33 inches or 84 cm
49 1/4 inches or 125 cm Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!

Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
