Japanese Meiji Era 2 Piece Kanzashi Hairstick Kogai (detachable) type. Signed.
Made from tortoiseshell, with shibayama-style silver, gold, and abalone decoration, featuring shamrock leaves on one end and flower motives on the other one.
Gold inlay signature(inscription) translates as ‘Eternal Dragon’.

Total length (when closed) 15 cm, 1.2 cm wide at the ends.
Excellent condition (dark marks in photos are camera reflections). This item is available to view at the Red House Antiques Centre in York.
