This is a good quality Victorian period gilt frame with its original gilt finish in excellent order. The deep frame dates from around 1860 and measures 64 cms by 49 cms overall. The aperture is 39.3 cms by 24.5 and the opening at the back to receive the painting is 26 by 41 cms.
It is possible to remove the slip which would make a frame with an aperture of 42.8 by 27.9 cms and the opening to receive the picture would become 45 cms by 30 cms
